Lucknow Chamber of Commerce
Today, picturesque Lucknow is a thriving business centre and home to 1,100 residents. There is much to see and do. Shaded walkways line the banks of the village’s three streams where anglers can dangle a hook for rainbow and brook trout. There are great shops and food stops, sports facilities and nearby skiing and snowmobile trails. Beautiful Lake Huron beaches and sunsets are just minutes away.
The Lucknow and District Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1993. It formerly operated as the Lucknow Business Association. The Chamber is led by a seven member volunteer executive and has an average of sixty members. There are four general meetings a year. The general meeting in December is when a new executive is elected.
The Lucknow and District Chamber of Commerce is a driving force in promoting Lucknow and area as a place to do business or start a new business. It also helps existing business with grants, questions and concerns of infrastructure and township communication.
The Chamber's success lies in member participation. Annual fees are $80.00 and these fees are in part used to promote the businesses. Membership dues are also partly used to support the running and staffing of the Tourism Office. This valuable resource was initiated by the Chamber and each summer a student is responsible for greeting and helping many visitors to the area. Membership in the Chamber also allows a business to accept customer's “Chamber Bucks”, take part in group advertising and build for the future in the community in which we have all chosen to live and work. Together, we can improve the business economy.
The Lucknow and District Chamber welcomes new members so if you are a new business owner or are just interested in learning more about what the Chamber does, visit their Facebook page: Lucknow & District Chamber of Commerce.
