Lucknow Downtown Revitalization Committee
The Lucknow Downtown Revitalization Committee was formed in 2011 for the purpose of leading the revitalization of downtown Lucknow and implementing the goals outlined in the Spruce the Bruce Community Toolkit.
This group meets several times throughout the year. The 2014, 2015 & 2016 meeting minutes can be found at the right side of this page. The minutes from 2011 to 2013 are available upon request.
Lucknow is open for business! In the summer of 2012, the committee placed four of these signs in vacant commerical storefronts.
A new logo was designed for Lucknow in July 2011, which is shown on the right. It was designed keeping the look and feel of a "general store" in mind. This is Lucknow Downtown's identity, as outlined in Lucknow's Community Toolkit. Signage guidelines were also established to encourage a uniform image of Lucknow's downtown. You will find a copy of the guidelines on the right side of this page.
The Committee has been successful in obtaining several Spruce the Bruce grants for marketing and streetscape improvements. Come shop in Lucknow and you may receive a reusable Lucknow bag.
See below for pictures of the new waste receptacles and benches that were installed downtown in the spring of 2012. The new Caledonia Park sign, which was a project undertaken by the Lucknow Beautification Committee, is also shown in the first picture.
