Release of Draft Zoning By-Law

Draft Comprehensive Zoning By-law available for public comment

Property Owners and Interested Parties are invited to attend a Public Open House to discuss the preparation of the new Township of Huron-Kinloss Zoning By-Law Under Sections 26 and 34 of the Planning Act

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is conducting a comprehensive review of its zoning by-law to ensure it reflects the Township’s new Official Plan. Zoning by-laws are legal documents that divide the Township into different land-use zones, specifying permitted uses (e.g. agricultural or residential) and required standards (e.g. building size and location).

The public drop-in session is scheduled, to give the public an opportunity to review and ask questions about the first draft of the new zoning by-law.

Any person may attend the public drop-in session and make written and/or verbal representation either in support of, or in opposition to, the above noted proposal. Comments submitted to pchauvin@mhbcplan.com or swatson@huronkinloss.com prior to October 3, 2017 will be considered in the preparation of the final draft zoning by-law.

If you wish to be notified of any public meeting and/or the adoption of the new zoning by-law, you must make a written request and submit your name and contact information to the email address noted above.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make a written submission prior to approval/refusal of the new zoning by-law, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision to the Ontario Municipal Board, and may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal unless there are reasonable grounds in the opinion of the Board.
