Council Highlights April 8th 2024

The Township of Huron-Kinloss Council was held in Council Chambers at 21 Queen Street in Ripley at 7:00 p.m.

Morrison Zoning By-law Amendment

A Bruce County Planner attended the meeting to present a planning application to rezone a portion of a property to be considered by Council. This application asked to rezone a portion of the property to permit additional On-Farm Diversified uses for a maximum of three farm vacation cabins, each with a maximum ground floor area of 56 square meters as well as a Nanobrewery operation.

Council supported the request and Staff have been directed to prepare the by-law for the April 15^th Council meeting.

Community Improvement Plan

Council supported the draft Community Improvement Plan. A community improvement plan (CIP) is an economic development tool that encourages community revitalization by providing financial assistance to business owners and commercial property owners. The updated CIP will allow Huron-Kinloss businesses to access the new Spruce the Bruce funding programs being offered by the County of Bruce and includes a new Community Improvement Plan Area - the entire Township. The Township has extended its Downtown Improvement Programs to include additional assistance for downtown business owners, focusing on improving accessibility and developing new products and experiences.

Special Meeting of Council

The Township of Huron-Kinloss Council will be participating in a Special Meeting to tour the various Township roads, facilities, and services on Friday, April 19^th, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting is open to the public. Upcoming Meetings

The next Township of Huron-Kinloss Council meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15^th, 2024. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Office, 21 Queen Street in Ripley.
