Township of Huron - Kinloss
Applications are now being accepted!
If you operate a business in downtown Lucknow or Ripley, apply now for funding to improve your storefront signage or facade. Funding is also available for new awnings and sidewalk patios. The application process is simple and is all done online through www.brucecounty.on.ca/business/spruce-the-bruce. Spruce the Bruce will cover up to 50% of the cost of an approved project.
Funding is also available for community groups working on downtown revitalization projects. Grants include: Gateways and Downtown Signage; Destination Infrastucture; Streetscape Beautification; and Collaborative Marketing.
Please contact Taralyn at the municipal office if you are interested in any of the available grants and require assistance with the application.
It's a new year; think about joining your local business group!
Both the Lucknow and District Chamber of Commerce and the Ripley Business Community are looking for new members. The next Lucknow Chamber general meeting is March 17th in the multi purpose room at the Lucknow and District Sports Complex. The annual cost to be a member is $80.
The Ripley Business Community is scheduled to meet on March 9th at 7:00p.m. in the Huron-Kinloss Council Chambers. The cost to join this group is $100 (collected on an annual basis).
There are four sandwich boards still available for purchase. These signs feature the Lucknow logo and are designed to fit with Lucknow's identity of a "General Store". The Township was successful in securing a Spruce the Bruce Grant last year to get these made. The cost of each sandwich board is $175.00+HST (compared to $400.00 regular price).
These signs are a great way to advertise your product specials and get people through your door. Please contact Taralyn at the municipal office if you are interested.

The rest of the wayfinding signs were installed in downtown Lucknow in February. These new signs are in accordance with the Regional Tourism Organization 7 sign standards and are designed to direct visitors to our points of interest. A pedestrian map sign and new park signage were also installed at the same time.
