Give your input into the updated Official Plan on October 3rd

The Township has accepted the proposal of MacNaughton Hermsen Britton Clarkson Planning Limited (MHBC) for services related to a Comprehensive Review of the Township of Huron-Kinloss Official Plan (OP).

The OP currently provides policy guidance to land use and planning decisions in both the rural/agricultural and urban/settlement areas of the Township. The Review will incorporate a Growth Management Study for possible expansion of the urban settlement boundaries, incorporate Source Water Protection Policies, and ensure conformity to the Provincial Policy Statement.

Information updates regarding the Official Plan Review will be available on the Township website. A series of consultation meetings throughout the Township will be held to receive public comment. Dates of all public meetings will be advertised and posted on the Township website. An update of the Comprehensive Zoning By-law will follow the Official Plan update.

The first workshop in the series of public workshops related to the Official Plan Update is October 3, 2015 at the Ripley Huron Community Centre at 10:00 a.m. In this session MHBC Planning Consultants will provide an overview presentation on forecasted growth and development for the Township and then provide an opportunity for people attending the session to discuss issues related to growth in the Township and local issues that should be considered in the growth and development process.

Point Clark Wayfinding Signage and New Gateway Signs

Streetlight Installation in Lucknow

The Lucknow downtown decorative energy efficient LED streetlights will be installed in October, 2015. The installation should take approximately two weeks and we kindly ask the patience of downtown businesses for any disruption in parking availability during the installation.

2015 Holiday Shopping Pass

2014 Holiday Shopping Pass

It's hard to believe it is already that time of year, but the Holiday Shopping Pass promotion will be starting soon!

The promotion will be setup similar to previous years. Downtown business owners who wish to participate will receive a hand punch and a stack of Holiday Shopping Passes. For every $10 spent, a customer receives a punch on their Pass. Once they have spent $150 at participating businesses, they can submit their Pass to the Township to be entered into a draw for one of three $150 shopping sprees.
