The Township has been working through a Comprehensive Review of the Official Plan with consultants MacNaughton Hermsen Britton Clarkson Planning Limited (MHBC). The review has incorporated a detailed look at the Settlement Area Boundaries, Source Water Protection Policies, Natural Heritage Policies, Secondary Units and conformity to the Provincial Policy Statement and County of Bruce Official Plan. Public and agency comments received have been considered and incorporated into the document as applicable. The Official Plan is scheduled to be adopted by by-law at the August 15th, 2016 meeting.
Township Wide Fire Burn Ban
Extreme temperatures, a lack of substantial precipitation and the long range weather forecast has prompted the Township of Huron-Kinloss to issue a total fire ban on all open air burning. This includes agricultural burns, old farm buildings, recreational fire pits (e.g., bonfires, chimneas), etc., until safer conditions return.
The Township of Huron-Kinloss wants to remind residents and visitors to exercise caution with outdoor fires at any time.
