Opportunity Awaits in Huron-Kinloss

2018 Grant Funding Available

The Township offers funding for private businesses through the Downtown Improvement Program to upgrade commercial buildings located in the Community Improvement Plan area. 

Funding is available through four programs:

Facade Improvement and Sidewalk Patio Grant: up to $3000 (matched funds) available for facade improvements 
Storefront Signage and Awning Grants: up to $1000 (matched funds) available for perpendicular signs, flat signs, stand alone signs and awnings
Infrastructure Works/Building Restoration and Accessibility Enhancements; Tax incentive grant program for property tax assessments that increase by $100,000 or more. The grant covers the increase in property taxes due to the enhancements for up to 5 years. 
Community Energy Efficiency Grants: up to $3000 (matched funds) for enery efficiency upgrades (lighting, windows, insulation, furnace, etc.)

The rest are scattered throughout the province in all tourism centres and local kiosks. Four County Market Labour Board Survey

Business Owners are invited to participate in the Four County Labour Market Planning Board's EmployerOne Survey. Please take a moment to fill out the survey as it gives the board much needed insight into the Labourforce in our area.
"The Four County Labour Market Planning Board is calling on employers like you to help us better understand the workforce issues and challenges facing local businesses.  The EmployerOne survey collects information on a range of issues including projected vacancies, hiring intentions, recruitment strategies and challenges, as well as your perspective on candidate skills, education and training.  After analysis, the data is released to schools, community partners, government agencies and the public so that they may see the characteristics of the local labour market."
