About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and cautious Crossing Guard to join our team and ensure the safety of students crossing at the designated crosswalk. Our ideal candidate will be friendly and compassionate while safely assisting children on their daily commute to and from school.
- Assist school-aged children in safely crossing established crosswalks.
- Stop and direct traffic using the necessary safety equipment, maintaining a safe and orderly flow of vehicles.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among students, emphasizing the importance of walking bicycles across the intersections.
- Stay vigilant and report any traffic violations or unsafe practices that may compromise child safety to the appropriate authorities (OPP).
- Be prepared to respond to incidents or emergencies, taking swift action to obtain necessary assistance.

Who We're Looking For:
- Someone who is knowledgeable with a solid understanding of the Highway Traffic Act and its applicable rules and regulations is essential.
- Prior experience working with people, especially in a customer service or community-focused role.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and drivers.
- A completed vulnerable sector check is mandatory to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
- The ability to stand for extended periods, up to 2 hours per day, is essential.
- Resilience to work in various weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, rain, and snow.
