2022-2026 Huron-Kinloss Inaugural Council Meeting Highlights November 15th, 2022
The Township of Huron-Kinloss Inaugural Council Meeting was held in Council Chambers at 21 Queen Street in Ripley at 7 in the evening.
The agenda was ceremonial in nature, as the Council members took their Declarations of Office.
2022-2026 Council Has Been Formed
The Inaugural Council Meeting marked the beginning of the 2022-2026 Term of Council. About 50 members of the public attended the meeting. Quinn Smith, Don Murray’s niece, performed the national anthem.
Oaths of Office
Each newly-elected member of Council read the Declaration of Office, solemnly affirming to faithfully perform the duties of the office for the betterment of the community, lawfully and with the highest integrity.

Inaugural Address
In his inaugural address, Mayor Don Murray welcomed all Council members and their families, as well as thanked Township staff who worked on the election.
Mayor Murray congratulated the newly-elected Council and expressed optimism about working together as a Council.
Deputy Mayor and Councillors provided inaugural remarks. Members of Council welcomed each other to the table, and recognized Township Staff and previous Council for work done to advance the Township goals during the last term of Council. Council members recognized their families and the community for their support.
By-Law to Appoint Jennifer White as Clerk
Council passed a By-Law to appoint Jennifer White as Clerk.
The Township of Huron-Kinloss thanks those who attended the Inaugural Council Meeting including Council family members, friends, press and community members.

Upcoming Meetings
The Council meeting scheduled for Monday, November 21st, 2022 has been canceled.
New Council Orientation will take place at the Township Office on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022.
The next Township of Huron-Kinloss Committee of the Whole meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5th, 2022. This will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Office, 21 Queen Street in Ripley.
