Council Highlights June 17th, 2024

The Township of Huron-Kinloss Council Meeting was held in Council Chambers at 21 Queen Street in Ripley at 7:00 p.m. Highlights from the meeting include:

Municipal Support Services Appointed

Municipal Support Services staff have been appointed as Municipal By-Law Enforcement Officers for the Township of Huron-Kinloss to provide relief By-law enforcement services in the Township during the summer months.

Hearing and Screening Officers Appointed

The Township has appointed two Hearing and Screening Officers under the Administrative Monetary Penalties System By-Law. The Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) allows by-law related offences to be heard by the Township, instead of through the Provincial Offences Act. It is meant to simplify the process of resolving penalty notices. 

District Fire Chief for Fire and Emergency Services Appointed

Steve Bushell has been appointed as the District Fire Chief for the Township of Huron-Kinloss Fire and Emergency Services Lucknow and District Fire Station, effective June 10th, 2024.

Upcoming Meetings

The next Township of Huron-Kinloss Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (due to the Canada Day holiday), July 3rd, 2024. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Office, 21 Queen Street in Ripley.
