Council Highlights March 11th, 2024
The Township of Huron-Kinloss Council meeting was held in Council Chambers at 21 Queen Street in Ripley at 7:00 p.m.
Highlights from the meeting include:
BM Ross and Associates Delegation
B.M. Ross and Associates Limited provided training to Council on the Planning, Design and Construction of Municipal Infrastructure Assets and the role that B.M. Ross has been assigned by the Township. B.M. Ross plays a critical role in the operation of Township assets.
The comprehensive presentation provides insight into their many services, including Environmental Assessments and Master Plans, Structural Inspections, Design of Municipal Infrastructure Assets, and more.
The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process is the planning and approval process for municipal road, water, wastewater, stormwater and transit projects. Want to learn more about what’s involved? Page 25 of the presentation goes into detail.

OPP Detachment Board
The new Community Safety and Policy Act (CSPA) will come into effect on April 1st, 2024, which will repeal the existing Police Services Act, 1990. As part of this change, the existing Huron-Kinloss Police Services Board (PSB) will be disbanded and replaced with a single board for the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police Detachment that will include the Municipality of Arran Elderslie, Municipality of Brockton, Township of Huron-Kinloss, Municipality of Kincardine and the Municipality of South Bruce. Mayor Don Murray has been appointed to represent the Township of Huron-Kinloss on the Board.
Budget Adoption
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT BUDGET
The Council of the Township of Huron-Kinloss intends to
adopt the estimates for 2024 at the regularly scheduled meeting,
Monday, March 18, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.

The next Township of Huron-Kinloss Council meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on March 18th, 2024. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Office, 21 Queen Street in Ripley.
