Mayor Don Murray Elected as Bruce County Deputy Warden for 2024-2025 Term

HURON-KINLOSS, ON: The Township of Huron-Kinloss is proud to announce that Mayor Don Murray has been elected as the Deputy Warden of Bruce County for the 2024-2025 term. The election took place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, during the Inaugural Council Meeting of Bruce County Council, held in the Walkerton Administration Centre.

Mayor Don Murray has been a dedicated representative of Huron-Kinloss since 2006, serving three terms as Councillor, one term as Deputy Mayor, and now as Mayor since 2022. His extensive experience and commitment to community growth and collaboration make him a valuable addition to the leadership of Bruce County Council.

Luke Charbonneau, Mayor of the Town of Saugeen Shores, was elected as Warden for the 2024-2025 term, marking his first time in the role. Both Warden Charbonneau and Deputy Warden Murray were officially sworn into their new positions by Bruce County Clerk Linda White.

Bruce County Council, composed of the locally elected Mayors of the eight lower-tier municipalities in the County, oversees the management of shared community resources and services. As Deputy Warden, Mayor Murray will support the Warden’s duties, including representing Bruce County at official events and advancing critical initiatives for the region.

“I am honoured to have been chosen as Deputy Warden of Bruce County,” said Mayor Don Murray. “I look forward to working closely with Warden Charbonneau and my fellow members of Council to continue advancing the growth and well-being of our communities. Together, we will focus on initiatives that make life better for residents today and for generations to come.”

Huron-Kinloss CAO Jodi MacArthur extended her congratulations to Mayor Murray, saying, “We are thrilled to see Mayor Murray take on this leadership role with Bruce County Council. His passion for serving the community and his dedication to collaboration will undoubtedly benefit all residents of Bruce County. Congratulations, Mayor Murray, on this well-deserved achievement.”

The Township of Huron-Kinloss congratulates both Warden Luke Charbonneau and Deputy Warden Don Murray on their elections and looks forward to the continued growth and success of Bruce County under their leadership.
