Notice of Master Plan Completion - Water & Wastewater Servicing

THE PROJECT:

The Township of Huron-Kinloss has completed a Growth, Water, and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan for the communities of Huron-Kinloss, Ripley, Lucknow, and Lakeshore areas. The Master Plan examined existing infrastructure forecasted future residential and non-residential growth over the next 25 years and identified existing and future water and wastewater infrastructure needs. The Master Plan will become the basis for and used in support of future projects required to support existing residents and accommodate projected development. It also provides a timeline for the implementation of identified upgrades, expansions, and modifications to existing infrastructure in Ripley, Lucknow, and the Lakeshore areas.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS:

The Master Plan was conducted following Master Plan Approach 1 under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA), dated October 2000, as amended 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2023. This study incorporated Phases 1 and 2 of the MCEA process into the Master Plan. Projects categorized under the MCEA as Schedules B or C will require additional study to fulfill requirements before implementation. The following projects are the preferred servicing solutions that require the completion of an MCEA at a future date.

A digital copy of the Master Plan Report is available on the Township’s website. Through this Notice, the Master Plan is being placed on the public record for a 30-day public review period ending: March 6, 2024.
