an Amendment to the Building Permit Fees
Section 7 of the Building Code Act

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Huron-Kinloss will hold a public meeting to consider amending the Building Permit Fees under Section 7(6) of the Building Code Act. 

The Council of the Corporation of the Township of Huron-Kinloss shall consider the proposed amending Fees not earlier than at their meeting of:

Monday, September 18, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.

In the Council Chambers of the Township of Huron-Kinloss, 21 Queen Street, Ripley, ON.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Township of Huron-Kinloss is proposing to adopt (amend) the Building Permit Fee By-Law under Section 7(b) of the Building Code Act. The effects will be to 1) Clarify that the per square foot fees include all floors for the following classes: Commercial, Industrial or Institutional, Farm Buildings – Livestock Housing, Farm Buildings – Other than Livestock Housing, and Manure – Storage Facility (including areas under Livestock Housing), 2) Remove the waiving of applicable building permit fees under Residences Destroyed by Fire and 3) Introduce the following fees: Unfinished Basement (including crawl spaces) at $0.45 per sq/ft, Occupancy Permit at $100.00, Temporary Structure Permit (including tents, seasonal greenhouses on commercial properties, etc.) at $100.00 and Additional/ Miscellaneous Inspections/ Failed Inspections (discretionary) at $75.00.

YOUR RIGHTS TO PARTICIPATE: Any person may attend the public meeting and make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed change.

WRITTEN COMMENTS must be received by the Township no later than Thursday, September 14^th, 2023, at 1:00 pm to the attention of the Clerk by email jwhite@huronkinloss.com, mail or by using the drop box located at the Township Office.
