Notice of Meeting To Consider an Amendment to the Building Permit Fees - January 13, 2025

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Huron-Kinloss will hold a public meeting to consider amending the Building Permit Fees under Section 7(6) of the Building Code Act.  The Council of the Corporation of the Township of Huron-Kinloss shall consider the proposed amending Fees not earlier than at their meeting of:

MONDAY, JANUARY 13, 2025 AT 1:00 P.M.
In the Council Chambers of the Township of Huron-Kinloss
21 Queen Street, Ripley, ON.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Township of Huron-Kinloss is proposing to adopt (amend) the Building Permit Fee By-Law under Section 7.6 (b) of the Building Code Act. The effects will be to ensure the cost of administering and enforcing the Act does not exceed the anticipated reasonable fees received from building permit fees.  The proposed amendments

1. Introduces the following fees: various plumbing permit fees, a sign permit fee, a sign by-law exemption fee, a fee for permits for building construction, renovation or repair not specifically listed elsewhere;
2. Updates to per square foot fees including accessory buildings residential; unfinished basement; decks, balconies and porches; farm buildings livestock housing and other; manure storage facility, new mobile homes, park model trailers;
3. Update fees: bunker and tower silos; steel granaries; swimming pools; renovations, change of occupancy; demolition, temporary structure, wind turbine, sewage system demolition & minimum permit fees, additional or failed inspections, and review of approved plans
4. Changes to fee calculations for engineering review and tarp covered structures

YOUR RIGHTS TO PARTICIPATE: Any person may attend the public meeting and make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed change.

WRITTEN COMMENTS must be received by the Township no later than Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 1:00 pm to the attention of the Clerk by email clerk@huronkinloss.com, mail or by using the drop box located at the Township Office. Please be advised that your comments will form part of the public record; your communication and any personal information therein will be made available to the public (i.e., e-mail address), unless you expressly request its removal.
