Township of Huron-Kinloss Enters Agreement with OCWA for Water and Wastewater Services

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is pleased to announce a new five-year agreement with the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) for the operation and maintenance of its water and wastewater systems. The agreement takes effect on January 1, 2025, following the conclusion of services from the current provider, Veolia Canada, on December 31, 2024.

The Township extends heartfelt gratitude to Veolia Canada for over two decades of dedicated service. Their commitment to providing safe, clean drinking water and maintaining high standards in wastewater management has been invaluable to the community.

Looking forward, OCWA brings a wealth of expertise and a corporate philosophy that prioritizes long-term sustainability. With a focus on resource stewardship, regulatory compliance, and system improvements, OCWA’s operational expertise will ensure the continued success of Huron-Kinloss’s water and wastewater systems. Their strategic planning and energy management programs will support the Township in maintaining efficient and environmentally responsible operations.

Beyond technical excellence, OCWA is committed to community engagement. They plan to participate in local events such as parades and shoreline cleanups, while their educational initiatives—including the OneWater education program, the "I Don’t Flush" campaign, and the OCWA Water Buggy—aim to foster a deeper understanding of water conservation and environmental stewardship within the community.
