Township of Huron-Kinloss Introduces RZone Policy to Foster Safe and Respectful Environments

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is prioritizing safety and respect with its recent introduction of the RZone policy. This initiative is designed to prevent and address inappropriate behavior or violence within Township-owned properties, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all Staff, volunteers, user groups and members of the public. 

Focused on promoting respect and considerate relationships, the RZone policy clearly outlines prohibited behaviors, such as aggression, theft, possession of weapons, illegal substance consumption, by-law contravention, vandalism, and harassment. A zero-tolerance stance is enforced, leading to strict consequences. 

Consequences vary based on severity, ranging from warnings to bans from specific Township facilities, with law enforcement involvement in critical situations. Incident reporting is crucial, and Staff, volunteers, and the public are urged to promptly report any incidents using a dedicated Complaint and Incident Reporting form. 

The responsibility for maintaining a respectful environment is shared by everyone involved. The Township's RZone policy reflects a robust commitment to fostering a secure and respectful environment, benefiting the entire community and Township Staff alike.
